Running a small campus snack business was one of my most practical learning experiences. I started by selling bottled drinks and pastries to fellow students at my university. At first, things went well because I chose a busy location and priced my products slightly lower than nearby vendors. This helped me attract customers quickly, and I was able to make consistent daily sales.
One thing that went well was my customer relationship. I was friendly and attentive, which made people come back and even recommend my business to others. I also learned how to manage my money better by keeping simple records of my daily profits and expenses.
However, there were areas I could improve. Sometimes I ran out of stock too early because I didn’t plan properly based on demand. There were also days when sales were low, especially during lectures or exams, and I didn’t have a strategy to handle that.
If I were to improve, I would focus more on planning, keeping extra stock, and introducing more variety to attract different customers. Overall, the experience taught me responsibility, planning, and basic business management skills.
